Trojan Riflery proves accurate in Anniston

Riflery team aims in standing portion of competition

Carrollton High School’s Riflery team brought home the first-place trophy as well as a plethora of individual accolades at the 2017 Gary Anderson Invitational on December 1st - 2nd in Anniston, Alabama.

The three-position event, named after the former Director of Civilian Marksmanship, Gary Anderson, included four competition events: Individual Sporter, Individual Precision, Team Sporter and Team Precision. As a team, CHS scored 791-64(prone), 741-20(standing) and 769-38(kneeling) for an overall aggregate score of 2301-122. This has been the highest aggregate score to date for the program.

Individually, the Trojans earned three medals at the competition. Morgan Frank earned a silver medal and Collin Grubbs and Thomas Harris each earned bronze.

Looking Ahead: Trojan Riflery will travel to East Coweta on December 7th to take on the Indians.
