TROJANS Stumble at the Dome

TROJANS Stumble at the Dome

Our Trojans traveled to the Georgia Dome with a bad taste in our mouths.  The last two trips ended as the Georgia High School state runner's up in football.  Saturday was a chance at some level of redemption.  Alas, it was not to be as turnovers and special team play put the game out of reach early.

The excitement was high as the Trojan faithful loaded up and headed to the 9:00 a.m. Kick-Off.  Kell won the opening toss and proceeded to drive 63 yards to paydirt with 9:29 left in the first quarter.  On the first Trojan play from scrimmage, a fumble was recovered by Kell at the Trojan 18 yard line.  Three plays later, Kell found paydirt again.  The score stood at 14-0 with 5:53 left in the opening quarter.

Kell scored three more times in the first half.  A punt return for a score was followed by a recovered fumble and another punt return.  The score stood at 35-0.

Our Gold and Black found their defensive rhythm as a potentent Kell offense was held to only 150 yards for the game and essentially one score.

Our Trojans travel down Hwy 16 this Friday night looking to get back to .500 on the young season as we play the Cougars of Newnan High.  Kick off is at 7:30 p.m.
