The Carrollton High School boys' golf team opened the season with a strong showing at the IRONMAN competition held at The Frog in Villa Rica on Saturday.
Playing nine different golfers, the Trojans fired a round of 347 in the modified Stableford format of the 36-hole event. St. Pius X scored 406 total points to take home the team championship belt.
Carrollton's Mario Perezcassar III had an outstanding personal performance by capturing the IRONMAN individual championship, earning 75 points on for the Trojans.
The IRONMAN is an annual season-opening event for the Trojans and Golden Lions. The two teams rotate between Reynolds Plantation and The Frog to kickoff their golf campaigns each year.
