Trojan Golf takes 4th at President's Day Shootout

From Oak Mountain CGC (Carrollton, GA): The Trojan Golf program hosted its first co-ed Championship this Monday at Oak Mountain. The inaugural President's Day Shootout is the only tournament of its kind in the State this season, pitting top Boys and Girls programs against one another to test who has the strongest overall group.

 
Carrollton's team consisted of three boys (Mario Perezcassar III, Luke Pezold, and Caleb Wall) and two girls (Morgan Gray and Abigail Duke). The Trojans finished 4th overall with a combined score of 444. Jacob Shadrix, playing as a marker, posted the low-round for the Trojans at 77, while Abigail Duke shot a 93 for the Lady Trojans.
 
Marist took home the honor of overall Champion (395), while Starr's Mill came in Runner-Up with a 405. 
 
In the individual competition, local standout Ainsley Cowart of Central finished Runner-Up for the Girls, firing a strong round of 73. Morgan Ellison of Woodward Academy took home Low Medalist in the same with a 1-under round of 71.
 
David Ford of Rivers Academy finished as Low Medalist for the Boys with a 2-under 70, while Lindsey Cordell of the Darlington School shot 73 as the Runner-Up.
 
The Trojan Boys will hit the road again this coming weekend, as they take part in the OCTAGON at Mirror Lake on Friday and Saturday. The Lady Trojans will play next on March 2nd in Jekyll Island.
