The Carrollton High School boys' soccer team rolled in its 2018 home opener on Friday night at Grisham Stadium, getting the best of Hewitt-Trussville (Ala.) in a 4-1 border battle.
The No. 3 Trojans (3-2) opened the scoring on a goal by Maxim Spruell off a corner assist from Melquin Juarez. After the visitors pulled even at 1-1, Spruell put Carrollton back on top for good on a 30-yard shot before the break.
Taking a 2-1 lead into intermission, the Trojans put the game away with goals from Juarez and Alex Calix in the second half.
Carrollton travels to Cass on Tuesday night for the Region 7-AAAAA opener.
