BUFORD, GA — The Carrollton High School cheer team continued their long-standing winning streak this past Saturday at Buford High School, claiming their 13th consecutive region championship
The Trojans finished with their second-best score of the competition season and have earned a spot in the top 16 for the GHSA state championships, which will take place this Saturday at the Macon Coliseum. The Class 6A/Coed meet begins at 3:00 p.m., and the Trojans will be the 21st team to compete.
“The girls have worked so hard this season, and their dedication has paid off with a 13th straight region title,” Head Coach Kelsey Shannon said. “The win is such a big honor for them. They are the most coachable athletes and have big goals. As they prepare for the state championship this weekend, I don’t see them losing any momentum.”
The GHSA championship meet will be live-streamed on the NFHS Network at www.nfhsnetwork.com/events/ghsa/gamc6c5bade6d.
The community is invited to watch the team’s state routine this Thursday, Nov. 14, at 6:00 p.m. in the Pope-McGinnis Student Activity Center on the Carrollton City Schools campus.
