CARROLLTON, GA — A familiar face with an extensive background in the sport of wrestling will lead the Carrollton High School boys wrestling team next season following Coach Nick White’s decision to step down last month.

Nick Voiles, a 2017 CHS graduate and former wrestling standout, has been named the new head coach of the program.

Voiles earned a bachelor's degree in business administration from Emmanuel College in 2022. He was a four-year starter on the Lions wrestling team, placing twice in their conference tournament. As a student-athlete at CHS, Voiles recorded more than 100 wins, placed three times at the state tournament, and was the Georgia High School Association (GHSA) runner-up in 2016 and 2017.

In 2023, Voiles accepted his first head coaching position at Paulding County High School. During those two seasons, he guided three athletes to collegiate wrestling opportunities and coached six individual state qualifiers.

“It is an honor to take over the Carrollton High School boys wrestling program,” Voiles said. “Coach White did a great job leading this team, and I am committed to continuing the success they have seen. As a former Trojan, I take great pride in this opportunity, and I look forward to pushing our student-athletes to be the best they can be in the classroom and on the wrestling mat.”

The boys wrestling program has captured three straight duals and traditional region championships, which is the most consecutive titles in school history. The Trojans will return a strong nucleus for the 2025-2026 season, led by senior Connor Stephens and junior Sutton White, both of whom placed at the state tournament last season.

Carrollton High School Athletic Director Elizabeth Sanders looks forward to the future of the wrestling program under Voiles’ leadership.

"We're excited to see Coach Voiles take over our boys wrestling program," Sanders said. "His connection to the Trojan Nation and his vision for excellence make him a great fit to lead our student-athletes."
