Rita Gentry, second from left, was honored with the Beverly Sanders Raines Award from the Georgia Athletic Coaches Association (GACA) on Saturday, May 31, at the Dalton Convention Center. The award recognizes individuals who have supported GACA's mission to improve the lives of athletes in their schools, communities, and Georgia. Gentry has dedicated nearly 50 years to Carrollton City Schools, first as a teacher and administrator, and later as a volunteer alumni liaison and historian, helping preserve the rich history of the high school.
