All-Region honors for Region 2-7A were announced on Thursday, and a total of 22 Carrollton players appeared on the list, including Bryce Hicks, who was named player of the year, as well as Julian Lewis, who was named offensive player of the year. Head coach Joey King was also named coach of the year for the region.
Player of the year honors for Hicks only seem natural after the season he had this year, piling up a total of 2,397 all-purpose yards, including 1,623 on the ground and 751 receiving, with a few kick-return yards added to that total. Hicks was also responsible for 32 total touchdowns.
This was second on the team only to, of course, Lewis, who passed for a freshman state record in yardage with 4,118 yards, which was good enough to lead class 7A in the state of Georgia and put him at 15th in the entire country. Lewis’ 48 total touchdowns was also a freshman state record.
